The US Navy Band had one of the longest running programs on a radio network, "The Navy Hour". It ran from 1945 until 1968 on NBC and on the Armed Forces Radio Service. It was a wonderfully well produced program that had a 23 year run, and because of it America knew more about its "blue water navy" than we do today. As we celebrate the 241st birthday of the Navy on this episode, let’s get to know them again.
