We immediately recognize Rhapsody In Blue by its iconic opening clarinet glissando. On this episode of Wind & Rhythm, we pay tribute to George Gershwin's most enduring composition, which premiered 100 years ago, on February 12, 1924 in New York City. Join us here at the gathering place for people who love band music.

I am the person who spent untold hours transcribing Gershwin’s “Cuban Overture” for band. I was saddened that no mention of my contribution was made during the commentary about this wonderful performance. All of us who work to make these pieces successful with wind band would appreciate being recognized.
